Dear Legal Practitioner
With the formal introduction of Court Annexed Mediation, it is in the attorneys interest to
familiarise themselves with the process and techniques of mediation.
Whether you wish to practice as a mediator or be in a position to advise your clients or
represent them at mediation, you will benefit greatly from attending the workshop. The
workshop will deal specifically with Divorce Mediation.

These presenters are experienced practising mediators and the methodology is essentially
learning–by–doing including working through case studies.
Who should attend?
All attorneys and candidate attorneys, especially (but not exclusively) those involved with
divorce litigation. Registrations will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cancellation by delegate
To cancel your registration, please e-mail annelie@LSSA.org.za at least 48 hours before the
seminar date to avoid being liable for the full rate. Refunds must be claimed in writing within 15
business days after cancellation.

payment is required as part of this process. Fees must be paid to the designated LSSA bank

Accreditation
The workshop conforms with the standards for Court Annexed Mediation published by the
Department of Justice and Constitutional Development and is accredited by the National Board of
Family Mediators (NABFAM). Please note that participants will be entitled to apply for accreditation
as divorce mediators and not as court mediators, which requires other training.
Important
All participants are required to attend the full 40 hour workshop for which they will receive from
LEAD a Certificate of Attendance. This will enable them to apply to their local service provider for
accreditation as Divorce Mediators. Participants who fail to attend the full workshop will not receive
a Certificate of Attendance.
Registration fee categories
The registration fees are highly subsidised for practising attorneys and candidate attorneys.
The fees include workshop material and all refreshments.

Practising attorneys from firms further than 150 km from closest venue: R 4 400 per person
