Major Projects in Grameenphone & Grameenphone IT Ltd:1. Project- Deep Dive Data
Description: It’s an advanced analytical solution project. In the project a new platform (SAS® 9.3)
has been introduced. Under this project several analytical models like segmentation, churn
prediction, cross-sell/up-sell, revenue forecast etc. are being developed by SAS® component. I
am involved here from the start and to prepare the SAS® Intelligence Platform as well as ETL
development.
Duration: - 1.5 Years
2. Project: Data Warehouse Test Server preparation.
Description: - Currently data warehouse application is distributed in three servers. Test data
server is prepared which actually replicates the production data warehouse architecture.
Coordination in OWB installing, object structure preparation & synchronization of OWB metadata
according to production environment were the main scope of activity.
Duration: 4 months.
3. Project: Data Warehouse Reengineering.
Description: - To achieve reduction in data warehouse ETL completion time, tuning of entire ETL
application has been made. At the end of the project ETL completion time reduced by 5 hrs &
total 3 TB of storage was saved. Postpaid application synchronization, OWB Mapping & process
flow development & end to end quality analysis were main scope of activity.
Duration: 3 months
4. Project: Dynamic pricing integration
Description: - Location based discount is launched by GP to provide discount on customer call
based on customer current geographical position. To integrate required field in source CDR,
testing decoder, procedure creation as per report requirement was the scope of activity.
Duration: 3 months.
5. Project: Automated ETL initiation
Description: - GP/GPIT data warehouse ETL was initiated manually by third party. After it was
takeover by GPIT, it was a tedious task to continue ETL operation at night. Then pre ETL quality
check has been ensured to run ETL automatically.
Duration: 2 months.
6. Project: Market share process re-engineering.
Description: - Process review, source data & target data population logic review. Logic change,
additional block addition, control point establishment and quality ensure. Unix script & developing
PL/SQL script was also in the scope.

Description: - GP call center provides health/medical related basic information which is
supported by third party. Dispute was raised almost regularly regarding call count. In this regard,
a decoder was developed to extract raw data from third party system. Then a process was
established to reconcile third party data with GP data warehouse data.
