An Ordinance to Amend Salary Ordinance # 17-2013 as amended
Entitled “An Ordinance to Amend Salary Ordinance # 17-2012”
Which Fixes the Compensation of Certain Officers and Employees of the Township of Livingston
BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Council of the Township of Livingston in the County of Essex that
sections 2 (a), 2 (b), 2 (c) and 4 of Salary Ordinance No. 17-2013 as amended are deleted and replaced in
entirety with the following:
2. (a) The following Grade Levels have been established for full-time employment and the person holding
such position shall be paid based on the assigned grade level as follows, see Schedule A attached:
Part-time employment in the below mentioned shall be prorated according to the number of hours worked.

4. The salaries or wages set forth in Schedules A, B & C shall be effective on adoption of this ordinance for
positions as set forth in 2(a) through 2(c). Employee salary adjustments will be based on a percentage that
may be approved by the Township Council in the annual budget. All salary and wage adjustments apply to
employees active at the time of budget adoption. Employees on terminal leave are not eligible for salary
adjustment. Inactive employees who have resigned retired, have been terminated or are deceased at the time
of budget adoption are not eligible for pay adjustment.
5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
6. If any portion of this ordinance shall be declared to be unconstitutional, invalid or inoperative by a court of
competent jurisdiction, those portions which are not unconstitutional, invalid or inoperative shall remain in
full force and effect.
7. This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication in accordance with law.
