The company was created when the Alco Hydro-Aeroplane Company, owned by the Lockheed brothers, merged with the Glenn L. Martin company, which was owned by Glenn Martin. Since then, the combined companies have solved complex challenges and continue to produce innovative solutions for customers. Social Media Social media plays a large role in the promotion, advertising, and networking of Lockheed Martin. The majority of social media is used for recruiting potential team members to join the 100,000 employees already working for the company.
