children the following question:
What happens during the night time?
Blackout
Introduce the book to the children by reading the title and showing the children the
illustration on the cover of the book. Ask the children the following questions:
What is the Caldecott Medal?
Who receives the Caldecott Medal?
* The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually to the artist (illustrator) of the most
distinguished American picture book for children.
Explain to the children that the book contains detailed pictures and little text. The
pictures help to tell the story. Read the book to the children. While reading be sure to
periodically stop and ask the children questions about the story.

popular?

present the session?
