You are one person but you have different duties as a brother/sister, son/daughter or uncle/aunt. State 1. This is the form of government that helps run each individual state. 2. 50 states = 50 state governments 3. There are three branches in this government as well: a. Legislative b. Executive c. Judicial Local 1. This is the form of government that helps runs cities, towns or counties inside each state. 2. This is run by what’s called a municipal government. 3. Power is given to these municipal governments from the State. 4. The municipal government helps run services such as: a. b. c. d. Police Fire Department Parks City transportation How Does it Work? 1. All three types of government work together to best serve the interests of the United States and their citizens. 2. Local Government – Mayor 1. 4. Even though these leaders do not have absolute control they are the ones who are in charge of the different types of government.
