Important factors that effect acidity in binary
compounds, eg HCl (having only two
elements):
• Bond Length (shorter = stronger bonds;
lower acidity)
• Bond Strength (longer = weaker bonds;
higher acidity: more dissociation, more

• Bond Polarity (smaller e.n. differences favor
