 Your
Grace Period is like your “free trial”.
 From
the date that you are added to the course
you have 14 CALENDAR DAYS to reach at least
10% complete in your course.
 When
you reach 10% complete, you will be
activated.
 Once
activated, you then have 14 CALENDAR
DAYS to reach at least 20% complete.
 After
28 CALENDAR DAYS, you should be at least
20% complete with your course.
 If
you are less than 20% complete with your
course, you may be Withdrawn without penalty.
 If
you choose to drop the course within the
grace period, you will need to meet with your
counselor to select an alternate course. A
parent or counselor must verify for me that you
are permitted to drop the course.
 If
you drop after the Grace Period or do not
complete your course by the deadline, it may
result in the issue of an “F” for your final grade.
Monthly Contact is a call that is required with
a parent or guardian at minimum once per
month to discuss progress and answer
questions.
This requirement can be completed by phone
or by email. (Parent and student email
addresses must be different.)
An FLVS Guardian account allows you 24-7 online
access to submitted and/or graded assignments and
your child's grade book.
I highly encourage parents and guardians to learn
more and sign up for an account using this link (also
included in your Welcome Letter). You are an
integral part of your student’s success!

 Pace
refers to your progress through your
course. Your Pace Chart shows you which
assignments you should be completing each
week.
 You
are expected to make progress EVERY
WEEK for each course you are taking online.
 Completing
the weekly assignments is
REQUIRED and not staying on pace can result
in your removal from the course.

Traditional Pace – 18 weeks to complete .5 credit
Segment or Course(5-6% each week)

Accelerated Pace – 9 weeks to complete .5 credit
Segment or Course (10-12% each week)
Behind Pace, Ahead of Pace, On Pace – Which am I?
In Week 4 of your enrollment, you should be 20% to
24% complete with your course to be ON Target Pace
for Traditional Pace.
If you are 12% complete in Week 4, you would be
BEHIND pace.
If you are 40% complete in Week 4, you are AHEAD of
pace.
“Academic Integrity means...
 Your work on each assignment will be
completely your own.
 Your collaboration with another classmate on
any assignment will be pre-approved by your
instructor.
 You will not practice plagiarism in any form.
 You will not allow others to copy your work.
 You will not misuse content from the Internet.”
Examples include Yahoo Answers, Wiki Answers, Ask-a-Friend,
Open Study, etc.

(Even if they give you permission!)
Some examples of plagiarism:

that student's knowledge.
 Copying materials from a source text, supplying
proper documentation, but leaving out quotation
marks.
