Volunteer Ireland Community and Business Development Intern Volunteer Ireland is seeking a Community and Business Development Intern to assist in delivering services to the corporate and not-for-profit sector in Ireland. About Volunteer Ireland Volunteer Ireland is the national volunteer development agency and support organisation for our 21 member Volunteer Centres and 5 Volunteering Information Services around the country. Our vision is every person connecting with one another and participating in their communities to build a better Irish society. Our mission is to promote the value of volunteering and increase the range and quality of volunteering in Ireland. We have 3 main strategic aims, which include: increasing awareness of volunteering; increasing access to volunteering; and increasing quality in volunteering. Volunteer Ireland provides a suite of services. One of these is our corporate employee volunteering initiative, Team Impact Days, which brings together companies and not-for-profit groups for unique and meaningful community volunteering projects. We also provide bespoke consultancy for corporates looking to develop new employee volunteering programmes as part of their corporate social responsibility plans. Internship Details The primary role of the intern will be to assist the Quality & Programmes Manager (with responsibility for corporate volunteering) in providing, and delivering, on the above mentioned services. The main elements to this role are: Designing, developing and supporting meaningful Team Impact Days Assisting with Team Impact Days project management and event preparation management Assisting, sourcing, managing and evaluating community volunteering projects Helping to promote Volunteer Ireland’s services to corporates and not-forprofit organisations through a range of communication methods, including presentations, online communications and at various events Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responding to requests for relevant information from companies and notfor-profit organisations Maintaining administration files and updating database Assisting with content for online newsletters Assisting Volunteer Ireland in identifying and developing new opportunities and initiatives for existing services, by monitoring current trends, as well as contributing to planning processes Skills, Experience & Qualities Required: Fluent English speaker Knowledge and understanding of volunteering and/or corporate social responsibility Experience in event planning and management Good computer and communication skills Keen interest in and/or experience working with/for volunteer-involving organisations Relationship management – ability to manage a variety of relationships and a variety of expectations Ability to achieve agreed targets Commitment to the ethos of volunteering and the programmes and activities of Volunteer Ireland On completion the intern will have attained skills and knowledge in: Project Management Business Development Volunteer Management Administration Time Commitment: 3 days per week for 4-6 months Location: Volunteer Ireland, 18 Eustace St., Temple Bar, Dublin 2 Reports to: Quality & Programmes Manager (with responsibility for corporate volunteering) Expenses: Expenses will be reimbursed according to the Volunteer Ireland Expenses Policy.
