From the computer of our President It sometimes seems that time flies and we live in a world that is speeding by and we can’t catch up. 2013 is almost over and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Our annual holidays and toy drive luncheon is scheduled on December 11 at the 94 th Aero Squadron. Before we know it, it will be 2014. So before this year is over I would like to thank our membership for their involvement in all of our activities - community service, volunteering at schools, literacy initiatives, the pilot partnership with Miami Dade College in identifying the deserving students for our annual scholarship, the toy drive for grandparents raising grandchildren, and educating our legislators about what is right for education. You have all played an active role in at least one of these activities. We can be thankful for a great many things this year. Collectively we have accomplished a lot, and I encourage all of you in the coming year of 2014 to continue the momentum and double our efforts in enhancing education now and in the future. I would also like to thank our partners who have supported us during this year. I would like to thank Mike DiBenedetto, Pres./CEO of the South Florida the Educational Federal Credit Union for the continuous support to an organization. The Palace Senior Living Facilities for hosting our luncheon meetings twice a year. As the saying goes, “time flies when you’re having fun.” We would like to share our good fortune and fun times with others. As my number one goal this year is to double our membership, I encourage you to bring a new member to our final meeting of the year December 11. I wish everyone safe, happy, and healthy holidays.
