Responsible for providing leadership and direction in local finance, accounting and tax matters, and being an active member of the CIS, regional and global finance community. Overall responsibilities include: Overall responsibility for the management of all aspects of office finance and risk management Ensuring smooth financial and accounting processes identifying and implementing necessary improvements Proactively identifying and tracking major changes to Ukrainian accounting, finance, and tax law, determining mitigating actions and impact on business, and educating CIS and Global on latest UA developments Risk Management including ensuring there is an adequate systems of internal control and ensuring compliance with local tax, legal and other regulatory requirements and policies Building and maintaining effective communication in operations and finance matters Developing junior / mid-level finance staff in Kyiv through appropriate trainings and coaching Specific responsibilities include: Finance and accounting Supervising the financial accounting function, currently consisting of Senior Accountant and Accounting Assistant Ensuring local finance and accounting practices comply with policies and local requirements Enhancing internal controls, continuously seeking to reengineer local business process to obtain efficiencies and reduce costs, which is inclusive of, but not limited to assisting with local development and implementation of financial applications Managing annual budget planning process and periodic reviews, driving related communications with budget owners, KYI leadership and CIS Finance Continuously tracking budget implementation reviewing monthly costs with the Controller, KYI OC and budget owners to ensure accuracy, reasonableness and highlight issue proactively Identifying and implementing programs for reducing "Other costs" and profit improvement measures. Also responsible for office Capital Expenditures planning and tracking Ensuring day-to-day and monthly cash flow to cover minimum two months opex cash on hand, including managing vendor payments to maximize cash benefit Implementing best practices in client contracting, billings, and collections process in order to maximize cash collections, improve pricing realization and minimise risk exposure Monitoring cross border activity and related tax and legal issues Managing the inter-company processes Assessing quality of local banking relationship, recommending and implementing improvements Overseeing preparation of statutory accounting financial reporting in accordance with UA, IFRS and GAAP standards Tax policy and controlling of the tax preparation and reporting Liaison with Global Tax Liaison with the local tax authorities Informing / educating Kyiv staff on expense management and risk mitigation and compliance Work with external business partners on all of above Administration and HR Reviewing and signing off financial aspects of office administration, including, but not limited to vendor contracts and event planning Working with KYI OC / CIS HR Manager to streamline and manage payroll process, compensation and benefits policies Risk Management Overall responsibility for risk management ensuring implementation of global and local risk management procedures (e.g., segregation of duties, controls, documentation, archiving, emergency procedures) across functions Ensuring appropriate local office policies are in place and monitored, and the adherence to global policies and local law requirements Proactively identifying and tracking major changes to Ukraine corporate, accounting, finance and tax law, determine mitigation factors and impact on business, and ensure compliance Ensuring that all legal filing requirements and communication with government offices/agencies are properly performed in close liaison with KYI OD, OC and CIS CFO This description covers the principal responsibilities: it is not restrictive. REQUIREMENTS This is a part-time role –close to full time to start, reducing to 75% or a bit less eventually Essential skills and experience University degree or equivalent Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Big 4 Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience Problem-solving analytic ability – Analyzes and deconstructs problems into their constituents.
