Job Description
Job Purpose
CAFOD are currently developing a new Salesforce CRM which will replace an in-house built database solution as
well as an existing Salesforce instance. Development of the new CRM is in train. CAFOD needs an experienced
Salesforce architect to be the lead technical support in completing build, full end to end testing, implementation
and system adoption
Job Scope
Key to this post is ensuring the delivery of a technical solution that allows CAFOD to deliver efficient and effective
business processes. The post would be working with a small team including Salesforce developers and working
closely with CAFOD IT staff.
Accountability
The post is based in the Change Team which reports to the Change Directors. The role reports to the Change
Manager and works closely with the Business teams, IT teams, the Digital team and Data & Insight. Where
appropriate, we will establish matrix management structures to provide clarity on the post holder reporting lines
and their responsibilities and accountabilities.
Key Responsibilities

Working with developers to scope remaining development

Define and articulate best practice, alternate choices and trade-offs

Work closely with key business and IT stakeholders to complete development on internal and external
data imports, extracts and segmentation

Support and advise on data mapping and migration from the current in house SQL database solution and
the current Salesforce instance to one new Salesforce instance

Technical leadership – setting best practices around data quality, website integration, 3rd party
applications, deployment, testing and iterative refinement

Ensure business requirements are aligned with solutions and strategies supporting business stakeholders
in their understanding of change impacts.

Define, communicate, and manage technical change management (e.g., release) processes for all

Ensure technical documentation is useful, updated and maintained.

Develop and implement CAFOD security model


Communicate and advise key business stakeholders regarding status and technical issues

Participate in cross-team discussion in advisory capacity to address business solution issues

Support the system trainer in understanding the system for onward staff training
Project Management

Manage own time effectively to meet challenging timelines.

Manage scope creep ensuring requirements are met within defined timelines

Work with project manager, test manager and external trainer to track and report progress.
Administration and Support

Development of technical documentation where needed including updating standard operating procedures
and JIRA

Salesforce development admin including crucial updates.

Provide technical support to the rest of CAFOD.

Terms and Conditions
Contract
A 12 month fixed term contract, including a six-month probationary period.
Salary
Band: Specialist B
Full Salary: £60,000
Hours
35 hours per week. Normal CAFOD office hours are 9.30 to 5.30 with one hour for lunch. This
post will require some weekend and evening work for which time off in lieu may be taken.
Holidays
20 working days per annum plus statutory holidays plus 6 days determined by CAFOD at
Christmas/Easter.
Notice period
Three months either way after completion of the probationary period.
Pensions
There is a contributory pension scheme (10% employer with 5% employee contribution).
Alternatively, CAFOD will make a similar contribution to a Personal Pension Plan.
