– 37K lbs of high explosives

– Possible multi-day event if vessel

M/V JUSTIN
Incident:
– Vessel sank alongside a crane
barge
– Vessel punctured the barge,
divers plugged the whole
– Large crane barge brought in
to raise the vessel
Impact:
– 300 gallons discharged
– Skimming and diving
operations conducted
– Difficult salvage conditions
– Highly visible area, large
media interest
