Prerequisite: A grade of "B" in both semesters of Dramatic Arts or

Course Description:
This is a "pre-professional" training class for students interested in an
in-depth study of acting, development of an acting technique, and
establishment of fundamental scene study skills. Students will
explore the entire journey of working on a script from the first reading
to the presentation of work before a live audience. Students will
experience the teaching and techniques of Stanislavski, Strasberg,
Meisner, Chekhov and Morrison form the basis of our work, as well
as a series of specially designed exercises to increase the actor's
expressiveness and technical range.

Student uses iPad in a responsible, ethical, and legal manner at
all times and for educational purposes only.

Instructor is not responsible to any and all liability, e.g. loss or
damages that may occur in the VPA classroom

Student is responsible to bring the iPad to class every day with
sufficient battery life to last throughout class assignments.

Student is strictly prohibited to use iPad material containing
inappropriate contend, offensive language, derogatory rumors/gossip,
or other content not in keeping with CCHS mission or philosophy.

Student may not use the iPad as a Face Time, video camera, still
camera, audio recording unless permitted by instructor.

Instructor may inspect and if necessary, confiscate any student’s
iPad and/or require the student to delete inappropriate apps or
materials.

For students individual works, internet materials may not be
copied or reproduced unless the actual content is altered
considerably (e.g. change of color or medium is not considered an
alteration) and the initial intent is changed to reflect the student’s own
voice.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR 5-6 Students:
In addition to completing all assignments and projects assigned to the
3-4 students, you will also be responsible for the following:

PARTICIPATION IN AN ADVANCED DRAMA 5-6 SHOWCASE
Your grading rubrics for all assignments will also be slightly different,
reflecting your third year placement in the course
Late Policy / Absence Policy:
Late work may be accepted on a case by case basis.
Plagiarism:
Plagiarism includes copying another student’s homework,
paraphrasing another’s work without acknowledgment, patching
together a paper or speech (even a paragraph) using different
sources without proper acknowledgement, or using someone else’s
idea or information that is not public domain. All citations of sources
for this class will use MLA format. Any assignment containing
plagiarism will receive a zero, parents will be contacted, and student
will receive a disciplinary referral.
Expectations:
Please refer to the classroom rules I have attached for my
expectations of you! I expect you to be kind, respectful, and
supportive of all present in the classroom. I expect all school rules to
be followed in the classroom (dress code, attendance, tardies, proper
language, etc.). If these expectations are not met, expect
consequences commensurate with the infraction.

list), as well as collaborated daily on dramatic exercises. They

lighting equipment, computers, theatrical programs and
applications, ipads, and ipods.
