Explain how New Century might use a transaction processing system, a business support system, and a user productivity system. For each type of system, provide a specific example, and explain how the system would benefit the clinic. New Century might use a transaction processing system for the appointment book including making reminder calls to patients and preparing daily appointment list, and most especially for its most important day-to-day business operation. It might want to consider a business support system for the management of patient records that will help them gain patients’ insights. For a user productivity system, New Century might consider a database management system or any other software that will help user access patient records and do more in a fixed period of time. 4. During the systems development process, should New Century consider any of the following: B2B, vertical and horizontal system packages, or the Internet? Explain your answers. During the systems development process, the New Century should consider B2B (Business to Business) for its claims and payment transactions with insurance companies, and for its medical supplies and equipments with pharmacies and other suppliers of equipment; vertical system packages for specialized systems specific to New Century; and horizontal system packages ( word processor, spreadsheets, presentation software, database software) for business processes common to most businesses such as inventory of supplies, accounting for billings and other transactions, and purchasing of supplies.
