1. Request approval for Brent Rockwell, CTC Special Education teacher, to attend the Preparing
Pennsylvania’s 21st Century Workforce: An Education & Workforce Symposium Annual Alliance,
Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, Hershey, PA, Monday thru Wednesday, February 2 thru
February 4, 2015, at an approximate cost of $1,000.00 for one substitute for three days, registration,
lodging and travel, with all costs to be paid by Carl Perkins Funds, in accordance with the district travel
policy.
2. Executive session item regarding non-traditional student.
CURRICULUM (Wandel, Duncan, Harshman and Stern)
1. Request approval to host the IU1 STEM Center’s Camp Tech at the Junior High for students in Grades
3-8, as proposed.
2. Request approval for Meredith Thornton and Becky Werner, Senior High School Spanish teachers, to
attend the Blaine Ray TPRS (Teaching Proficiency Through Reading & Storytelling) Workshop,
Pittsburgh, PA, Monday and Tuesday, February 9 and February 10, 2015, at a maximum cost of $200.00
each, in accordance with the district conference travel reimbursement guidelines.
FEDERAL PROGRAMS (Mongell, Lape, Martucci and Stern)
FINANCE (Means, Martucci, Wandel and Cunningham)
1. Request approval to limit the increase in real estate tax rate to the PA Department of Education
calculated index of 2.8% for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

2. Request approval to hold a special meeting before January 29, 2015 for the purpose of adopting a
resolution authorizing a proposed preliminary budget display and advertising and possibly increase the
tax rate above the calculated Pennsylvania Department of Education index of 2.8%.
3. Request approval to permit Eugene Cunningham, Business Manager, or Cherie Routzahn Assistant
Manager, to execute the Appointment of a Deputy Tax Collector Form from each tax collector on behalf
of the Connellsville Area School District accordance with Act 164 of 2014.

1. Request approval for Lissa Ladowitz, Clifford N. Pritts Elementary School teacher, Jamie Ream,
Stephanie Jackson, Kelly Sarnelli, Keith King, and approximately 26 students to take a field trip to
Gettysburg, PA, Friday, April 24, 2015, at no cost to the district, in accordance with the district student
travel policy.
2. Request approval for Mick Lilley, Nicole Painter, Missy Stoots, Chuck Michael, Bullskin Township
Elementary School staff and Angie King and Vanessa Bruner, other chaperones, and approximately 65
students to take a field trip to Gettysburg, PA, Friday, May 8, 2015, at no cost to the district, in
accordance with the district student travel policy.
3. Request approval for Kyle Martin, Jace McClean, Richard Evans, Nicole Painter and Eric Painter, staff,
and approximately 24 Junior High students to take a field trip to Washington, D.C., Friday thru Sunday,
May 15 thru May 17, 2015, at no cost to the district, in accordance with the district student travel policy.
4. Request approval for Kyle Martin, Jace McClean, Richard Evans and Susan Mizikar, Junior High staff,
and approximately 24 Junior High students to take a field trip to Gettysburg, PA, Saturday thru Monday,
May 2 thru May 4, 2015, at no cost to the district, in accordance with the district student travel policy.
5. Request approval for Michelle Harbaugh, Carol Rock, Marilee McFadden, Lynnlee Mascioli, Dawn
Shultz, Janal Ferguson, Amy Riccio, Lesley Kosisko, Doug Kosisko, Jon Eutsey, Tim Martin, Carol
Kirk and John Hamman, staff, and approximately 130 students to take a field trip to Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame, Cleveland, Ohio, Monday, April 20, 2015, at no cost to the district, in accordance with the
district student travel policy.
6. Request approval for Joseph Cordier, Andrew Hedrick and Sarah Hough, Senior High School staff, to
attend the United States Marine Corp Educator’s Workshop, Parris Island, South Carolina, Tuesday thru
Friday, March 10 thru March 13, 2015, at no cost to the district, in accordance with the district travel
policy.

The Speech Department will be attending the February 20, 2015 PATTAN training: “Sound
Management: It’s About Time” at Frazier, at no cost to the district, in accordance with the district
travel policy.

Emily Durst, Leigh Ann Mickens and Laureen Coldren, Dunbar Township Elementary School
teachers, and approximately 90 students will be participating in the water festival, Fayette County
Fairgrounds, Thursday, May 21, 2015, at no cost to the school district, in accordance with the district
student travel policy.

Melinda Orczeck and Kelly Cunningham, Junior High School teachers, and approximately 18 students
will be participating in the PJAS Regional Competition, California University of PA, Saturday,
February 21, 2015, at an approximate cost of $700.00 for registration and transportation, in accordance
with the district student travel policy.

Shelly Hann and Denise Shaw, Senior High School teachers, and approximately 35 students will be
taking a field trip to Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA, Thursday, April 30, 2015, at no cost to the district, in
accordance with the district student travel policy.
H.
Ruth Scott, Senior High School German teacher and chaperones, Jack Scott, Dianne Wolfe, Dawn
Wills, Bridget Starr and Glen Wills, and approximately 90 students will be taking a field trip to
Carnegie Science Center and Max Allegheny Tavern, Pittsburgh, PA, Friday, April 17, 2015, at no cost
to the district, in accordance with the district student travel policy.

Hannah Hearn, Dari Gilpin, Maureen Foreman, Jodi Curry, Karen Shandorf, CTC staff, and
approximately 10 students will be participating in community based activities, Connellsville
Community Ministries, Connellsville, PA, 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month during the 2014-2015
school year, at a cost for transportation, in accordance with the district student travel policy.

Karl Butchko, CTC Instructor, and approximately 25 students will be taking a field trip to World of
Wheels Student Career Day, Pittsburgh, PA, Friday, January 23, 2015, at no cost to the district, in
accordance with the district student travel policy.

Michelle Harbaugh and Debbie Luczka, Senior High School teachers, and approximately 15 students
will be participating in a musical preview for the Connellsville Rotary Club, Bud Murphy’s,
Connellsville, PA, Thursday, February 19, 2015, at no cost to the district, in accordance with the
district student travel policy.

Michelle Harbaugh and Debbie Luczka, Senior High School music teachers, and approximately 15
students will be participating in a musical preview for the Highlands Hospital Club, Highlands
Hospital, Connellsville, PA, Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at no cost to the district, in accordance
with the district student travel policy.

Adrianne Jordan-Egnot, Kim Fleck, Stephanie Romanishan, Ashley Robinson, Senior High School
staff, and three teams will be participating in the Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Competition,
Seton Hill University, Greensburg, PA, Monday, March 9, 2015, at an approximate cost of $700.00 for
four substitutes for one day, registration and transportation, in accordance with the district student
travel policy.

2. Connellsville Falcon Football Parents Association used the Senior High School cafeteria for an
annual football banquet, Sunday, December 7, 2014, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Group Charges

3. Child Evangelism Fellowship of PA will be using the Springfield Township Elementary School
classroom for after school Good News Club, Wednesdays, January 21 thru April 22, 2015, 3:00
p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and South Side Elementary School Library on Tuesdays, January 20 thru
April 21, 2015, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Group Charges-asking to be waved/Non-profit service to
our children
4. CAHS Volleyball will be using the Senior High School gym and auxiliary gym for a fundraiser,

5. Girl Scouts will be using the Springfield Township Elementary School for meetings on the first

6. Connellsville Elks will be using the Junior High School gym area for a district hoop shoot,
Saturday, February 7, 2015, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a snow date of Saturday, February 14,

7. Connellsville Elks will be using the Junior High School gym area for a hoop shoot contest,

8. Senior High School Counselors will be using the Senior High School cafeteria for a financial

9. Prom Committee will be using the Senior High School auditorium and cafeteria areas,
