Avoid inflating titles as this may give an inaccurate impression of the duties required (e.g. ‘Senior Executive Policy Officer’ when the job is really a ‘Policy Officer’). Position Number This is a unique number generated for each new position by HRS after approval is received to create the role. Existing roles carry over their position numbers when being re-advertised. Position Classification Positions within CDU are classified in accordance with the Charles Darwin University and Union Enterprise Agreement 2013 (the Agreement) as either: General Staff; or Academic Staff (Research Active Academic, Research Active, Teaching Focused Academic VET). Organisational Unit Unit under which the role will primarily function (e.g. The Office of Human Resource Services). Location Campus Campus(es) where duties will be undertaken (e.g. Casuarina Campus; or Alice Springs Campus). It is also useful to mention other locations where duties may occasionally be undertaken. Tenure Roles within CDU are generally classified as continuing, fixed-term or casual in nature. Additionally, roles may be part-time (specified number of hours) or full-time. Consult Clause 25 of the Agreement for current information on how to determine the tenure of a role. Fixed-term roles should clearly state: the period (e.g. 6 months; 1 year etc); and if applicable beginning and end date of the role. Part-time roles should specify the number of hours to be worked. A standard full-time week consists of 36 hours and 45 minutes (36 ¾ hours). Responsible to Position title of direct supervisor of this position. Base salary of $xxxx - $xxxx per annum plus superannuation employer contribution of 9% or 17%. District Allowance may apply. The lecturer must be willing to deliver training and assessment in regional and remote areas and be willing to visit students and deliver training in the workplace. Other possible special features: Appointment to this position is contingent upon a satisfactory National Police Check being completed and Working With Children/Ochre Card report received by Office of Human Resource Services prior to initial appointment. An ability to work flexible hours as required. An ability to travel to regional and remote locations. Business Unit Environment This section briefly describes the business unit.
