KFSA Job Description JOB TITLE: DEPARTMENT: REPORTS TO: FLSA STATUS: PREPARED BY: PREPARED DATE: Field Service Representative Risk Management Director of Risk Management Exempt KFSA Director of Risk Management October 2015 SUMMARY The goal of the Risk Management Department is to assist accounts with their safety and compliance programs. These include: communicating with customers, creating safety policies and procedures, providing training, and inspecting facilities for safety & compliance deficiencies. Critical to this position is the ability of the employee to work with customers, insurance company personnel, KFSA staff, and outside agency personnel. This would include the ability to work effectively to identify and solve problems, develop programs, and communicate recommendations whenever necessary. Supporting the insurance department is also a top priority. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Substantial traveling is required and the employee will be willing to travel at the discretion of management. Ability to develop ideas, concepts, and programs that will enhance the programs of our customers. Actively participate in continuing education on topics pertinent to the job. Ability to be a self-starter with limited oversight over day to day activities. Ability to communicate effectively with line employees, managers, and senior management. This includes both verbal and written communication. Able and willing to use a computer effectively o Including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Ability to learn and grasp new technological tools such as iPads, tablets, smart phones, etc. Ability to quickly pickup newer technologies and continually look for ways to utilize and embrace technology in the scope of the job duties. Ability to speak in front of groups, both large and small, and make presentations Possess the mechanical aptitude to understand and recommend improvements on each facility. This includes vehicles, ammonia plants, grain facilities, fuel storage, agricultural chemical facilities, manufacturing, etc. Ability to research, comprehend and explain government rules and regulations. Investigate accidents and recommend corrective action. Inspect customer facilities. Evaluate as well as assisting to prioritize risk management issues. Hold effective safety meetings for customers as needed. Ability to keep sensitive information confidential. Responsible for facilitating numerous training sessions with clients throughout insurance trade territory. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position possesses no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. The individual must also possess good written communication skills. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. COMPUTER SKILLS Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Willingness and ability to learn and embrace other computer programs & technology as necessary. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Current valid driver’s license and ability to drive and meet legal and insurance requirements.
