POSITION TITLE: Marketing Manager REPORTS TO: CEO POSITION SUMMARY The Marketing Manager, based in our Vancouver office, is responsible for developing overall marketing strategy for the organization in line with Hollyhock’s mission and values and managing all activities within the marketing department. This position communicates the ‘voice’ for the organization through social media, website content and events. The Marketing Manager provides a direct line of support for the program department and all Hollyhock presenters, contributing directly to the success of our programming. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees organization wide marketing efforts, managing departmental staff and volunteers Actively contributes to increasing registrations by collaborating with the program department on marketing and promotional efforts Manages strategic partnerships for promotional purposes Provides on-going support for the organization’s website management, acting as liaison with website developer Responsible for catalogue mailing list and distribution Provides marketing support to presenters including tailored marketing plans, website and blog updates, social media posts and email communication Works closely with conference producers to enhance conference marketing efforts Curates the annual Season Launch Party Attends events as Hollyhock representative as needed Responsible for recruitment, training and performance reviews of all department staff Responsible for meeting financial objectives of departmental budget Actively participates in manager’s meetings, prepares reports and presentations as required and accepts designated action items Other duties as assigned SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Diploma or degree in business or marketing an asset Minimum of two years of experience leading an organization-wide marketing effort and managing marketing staff Proven track record in social media marketing and content management Experience presenting to large groups Experience managing volunteers Demonstrates emotional intelligence and business acumen and maintains a positive and calm demeanor Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment Strong leadership and interpersonal skills January 4, 2016 1 Effective conflict management and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication and numeracy skills Ability to manage social media platforms and liaise with web developers Knowledge of Wordpress in a plus Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite and Google Apps for Work WORKING CONDITIONS This position works in a fast-paced environment and is exposed to continuous deadlines This position works in a public environment where excellence in customer service is required This position may be required to work outside of normal working hours SAFETY Maintains policies and procedures that ensure the safety and well-being of staff and volunteers January 4, 2016 2
