(2 day or 4 day options)
FEES:
$50 – Registration fee for 2 days
$85 – Registration fee for 4 days
1. Provide educators with an opportunity to understand larger concepts
such as ecosystem balance, diversity, sustainability, watersheds and
community.
2. Use lessons available in FLP, guide group activities (large, small, and
cooperative), provide for individual differences and learning styles, and
evaluates students’ learning.
3. Develop understanding, thinking skills, creativity, and improve
communication skills in the learning environment with students.
4. To use FLP lessons and see how they integrate curriculum and are
aligned to the North Dakota standards. See ND FLP Alignment at

5. Identify and use appropriate learning activities to integrate social
concerns and social perspectives regarding food, land, and people issues.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Attendance: Attend 15 hours of classroom instruction for one credit
and 30 hours for two credits
2. Reflective Journal: Participants will complete a reflective journal
entry for each session attended. Journals will include reflection on the
presentation and application in the educator’s classroom or position.
3. Participation: Participants are required to be actively engaged during
the class sessions through the questioning of processes and practices
presented along with productive discussions about integration into the
classroom curriculum, while addressing grade level standards and
benchmarks.
DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to provide educators with resource information
and education materials that supplement across the curriculum in PreK12. The textbook for the course will be “Resources for Learning” but will
include additional materials provided during the workshop. The course
will provide an overview of strategies, materials, curriculum
development, and research related to assisting the Pre-K- 12th grade
educators to better understand the interdependence of agriculture, the
environment, and human needs through lessons in multiple curriculum
areas: science, health, consumer education, mathematics, social studies,
geography, and more. This Project FLP Institute will focus on the impacts
of agriculture on society with geography, social studies and science
emphasis.
EVALUATION:
The students will be evaluated on the completion of the requirements
with point values stated. The attached course rubric will be utilized for
individual student assessment and letter grading.
