Shutterfly’s flagship product is its Photo Book line which allows users to create custom photo books. Features include cover options, designs and templates. Popular design themes are organised into “occasions” like, Baby, Wedding and Travel, and so forth. Style templates for these occasions include fonts, photo edges, page layouts, and coloured backgrounds. Shutterfly Share Sites are personalised websites that combine photo sites, blogs, and social networking to allow customers to connect and collaborate with friends and family. This is designed as a solution to “multiple camera, single event” photo occasions like family reunions, weddings, and team sporting events. In this way, a single website can be specified for multiple people to upload their photos and videos, and from which people may order prints, share photo books and post comments. On February 20, 2008, Shutterfly launched Shutterfly Gallery, a community platform for sharing and connecting with others and allows customers to creatively inspire one another by sharing their photo books online and exchanging comments about their experiences. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shutterfly Windows Live Photos: Share photos and videos online Windows Live Photos is a part of Microsoft's Windows Live service that allows users to upload their photos and share them with other users. The service utilises Windows Live ID to limit access to the photos the user has uploaded, allowing them to keep the photos private, share with contacts, or make the files public. It currently offers 25GB of storage space, with a maximum upload file size of 50MB. Windows Live Photos provides basic functionality such as the ability to move, copy and delete files and folders. Photos may be uploaded into different albums/folders. In addition, it provides the ability to allow users to add "People tags" to their photos, integrating with Windows Live Contacts. The photos can be downloaded as a ZIP file, while retaining the "People tags" and other metadata in the images. Metadata such as camera information for the photos are not lost when the photos are uploaded into Windows Live Photos. Finally, Windows Live Essentials can be downloaded to get free programs like Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. Now, you can not only create beautiful slide shows and movies, but also upload and share them in just a few clicks, where people you choose can view or download them for free. Content on the system can also be shared with social network sites. http://explore.live.com/windows-live-skydrive-photos-videos 3 4 Questions: 1. Nearly all photo sharing sites let users display and view this information. The marking on a map where an image was created. D To aid searching, users can often organise their photos into albums or sets, or add them to group categories. Some sites offer a fairly basic browse by category, while others include advanced search options, such as search by date, map searching, search according to license. Photo sharing sites can be used for online storage or backup of image files. E It’s like adding keywords to your images so they can be easily searched. It's incredibly useful if a site lets you determine how thousands of search results are sorted. This might be by date photo taken, by date uploaded, by location, or by popularity/rating. Many sites are geared towards delivering hard copies of photos or 'photo gifts' of users' digital images. This service, however, is often limited to specific geographical locations. While most sites with publicly searchable images will let anyone search and browse the images, most of them will require users to sign up before uploading their first images. Users can then control who can access the images. Registered users can mark images as favourites, add other users as contacts, join groups, comment on other users' photos. Users can choose a specific 'safety level' to control the display of offensive material.
