used in medical terms

Construct medical terminology basic word parts
Speak (pronounce), write and spell common medical terms and
abbreviations related to human systems

Understand the importance of correct use of medical terminology in a

QUIZZES: All quizzes will be taken on the computer during regular class time.
Each week you will be assigned a computer – odd number seats
will start with one chapter, even number seats will start with
another chapter.
For each chapter, one 5X8 note card with chapter vocabulary/
summaries will be allowed. These cards are to be hand written and
not shared. At the end of the quiz, these cards are to be turned in with
your name on them.
Each quiz is timed – once the time is up, no more questions
can be answered. Be careful: time only updates after you click on
an answer.
PAPER: See attached instructions for guidelines
FINAL EXAM: The final exam will also be taken on the computer; 5X8 note cards
Made throughout the course will be allowed. No practice
questions will be allowed. There will be 100 multiple choice
questions - you will have 60 minutes to complete the exam.
LEARNING ACTIVITIES:
1) Read and study chapters in the text
2) Complete exercises in the text at the end of the chapter for practice
3) Study and utilize “outline Course Preparation” and “Exam Study Guides”
form the WebCT website (See Course Content) on the homepage). This
material may be added to the 5X8 note card.
4) Complete all exercises (multiple choice, matching, etc) on the practice CD for
each chapter and print out “Chapter Summary” report to be turned in to the
instructor. EACH SECTION MUST HAVE A SCORE OF 80% OR
BETTER (you may reset and retry a section to achieve an acceptable score)
5) Complete selected mastery quizzes on designated quiz days.
6) Complete the assigned paper on time – NO late papers will be accepted
regardless of absence.
