1) Course Objectives : To enable the students to understand the theoretical framework
and actual implementation of processes, strategies and issues in the fields of human
resource management
2) Course content / Coverage : The course covers concepts pertaining to the role of the
HR Department. It will explore concepts involving acquisition, development and
retention of human resources. Contemporary issues of HR will be discussed with
practical examples.
3) General Description of Pedagogy : The course will focus on self and peer learning
through presentations and cases. The previous year’s University exam papers would
be discussed. Participation will be solicited at all times.
4) Student learning outcomes from the course :
 Understand the functions, importance and challenges of human resource
management
 Get insights on HR policies, procedures and framework
 Add value to HR processes
