Good evening,ladies and gentlemen,
My name is Riven Jong,from Yiyang City,Hunan Province,China. First of all I want to express
my gratitude to the Young Ambassador School for offering me this precious opportunity to be here.
It’s my honor to come to Israel and to deliver the speech here, as this is a place that enjoys long
history, boasts diligent and smart people, and desires peace out of long-year sufferings. And here I
am proud to present you my mother country,China,which actually shares many characteristics in
common as Israel
China is a multinational country with 56 nationalities making up a big family.As the national
policy states,all people are treated equally. And at the same time,Chinese people are really glad to
start good relationships with other nationlities. The Chinese parents educate the children to be
kind and friendly to others when they are at small ages. Hence we all know that it’s our
responsibility to help others. During the Second World War.The Chinese diplomat HeFengshan
who was a native of Yiyang,risked his life to save many Jews by issuing them “Life Visas” to
Shanghai of China and make thousands of Jewish people escape from death. The famous Chinese
scholar YuQiouyu wrote the epitaph for Mr.HeFengshan,”One of the Chinese virtues is not to go
on an expedition, but to lend their aid to these who are far away. Gentlemen’s way is to remain
silent when they do some good deeds.” From this,we get to know that kindheartedness,humility
are the cores of the Chinese traditional moral values.They also belong to one part of the
far-reaching Chinese culture.
The Chinese culture is developing all the time and any fresh elements can make it more
shinning and appealing. And because of this,we are eager to exchange cultures with other
nations’ ,we can learn from others' fine cultures to offset ourselves. The Beijing Olympic Games
showed the colorful and profound Chinese culture and the coming Shanghai Expo will also
present you the rapid-developing modern China. The ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi once said:
If there is to be peace in the nations, There must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the
cities,There must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors, There
must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart.
Peace and development are two themes of the world nowadays.Assuming we’re living in the
world without peace,how can we get the right to have the conversations on development? The
world needs peace,and peaceful world shoud be created by everyone of us. So no
peace,no,development.
It’s no doubt that communication,understanding and cooperation are the three important
factors that promote the good relationships between countries. Every towering tree used to be a
small seed. The world is like the small seed,we must water it,care about it prudentially. Only thus
can we make the world a better place.
