Requirements: Presentation (due Monday, October 13th) Your presentation should be 10-20 minutes long. I will take off points if your presentation based on 1/2 point per number of minutes over or under the allotted time. Your presentation should include a PowerPoint slide show that is simply used as a visual organizer for your audience and a prompter for you. You should speak directly from the bullets on your power point, and add to that information as you speak from what you know. Notes are also acceptable if you need to speak from note cards. Do not just read your notes or your power point. You must be ready to present when called. If you are absent when I call your name or group, you must have an official note (physician’s, court, principal—not parent) or you will receive a zero. You must not ask for more time once we begin presenting. Powerpoint (due day of presentation as visual) You should have a slide or two for each section of the MWDS, including one for your title slide and one for Works Cited. You backgrounds should be simple and elegant, without distracting bells and whistles, or graphics not connected directly to your work . You should have just a few bullets—speaking points—on each slide. Do not have entire paragraphs. Appropriate art work and/or music either from the time period of publication or from the time in which the work is set will earn you an extra point or so if it adds to your presentation and you explain how it works to support what you are talking about. MWDS (due by end of class Friday, hard copy, printed) Complete each section of the MWDS with proofed and corrected complete sentences where explanations are required, with bulleted information where a brief look at information is warranted, and with intelligent, accurate, sources cited on (do in-text citations for any information from all sources outside your own little brain) information throughout. Use MLA style. Easybib will help enormously. If it’s your own knowledge or public knowledge you are using, no source is required.
