The Organizational Development Consultant provides expertise to ongoing initiatives of the organization; explores best practices and keeps current on business trends in healthcare and general management issues; analyzes performance needs in relation to the strategic plan and organizational goals/objectives; builds partnerships with senior management and management teams; conducts needs assessments; provides implementation support for Altru’s strategic initiatives; designs, develops, implements and evaluates courses, training and business initiatives; partners with Strategic Business Partners in Human Resources and Learning and Organizational Development to address organizational effectiveness needs and concerns; leads and provides facilitation, coaching and consulting services that promote positive interactions and a healthy environment with an emphasis on delivery of the Altru Experience; delivers courses, change management and cultural interventions; compiles and analyzes data and assesses training requirements and/or organization development assessments to determine budget, service, and training priorities, and acts as a liaison with internal customers to establish and maintain effective business relationships and awareness of their needs. Primary Job Duties: Provides expertise to ongoing strategic initiatives of the organization that promotes organizational effectiveness such as major organizational cultural design, driving management and leadership performance through the targeted cultural approach. Explores best practices and keeps current on business trends in healthcare and general management issues along with the mission and strategic initiatives of the organization. 1 - - - - - - - - - - Provides expertise to create and sustain high performance teams boosting operational performance and morale among workforce. Analyzes performance needs in relation to the strategic plan and organizational goals/objectives, based on measurement, talent planning and assessment data, and assists in designing and implementing organizational development interventions at both department and system levels, focusing on organizational performance improvement. In conjunction with the Manager of Learning and Organizational Development, proactively builds partnerships with senior management and management teams across the system to understand the strategic direction and key initiatives for organizational effectiveness. Conducts needs assessments as requested, or as directed by strategic initiatives, researches internal and external alternatives and reports meaningful recommendations that provide leaders with options for improvement. Partners with Altru’s University facilitators, Human Resource Generalists and Performance Improvement Team members to achieve the organization’s desired outcomes. Networks across the organization to understand connections and share insights with management to create a healthy, engaged organizational culture. Provides implementation support for Altru’s strategic initiatives through service, learning, and/or organizational development tools and mechanisms to ensure the successful transition to a new model or culture. Assists in diagnosing leadership based challenges and recommendations for appropriate solutions. Designs, develops, implements and evaluates courses, training and business initiatives for the Learning and Organizational Department that focus on the competencies, skill development and strategic needs of the organization. Partners with Strategic Business Partners in Human Resources and Learning and Organizational Development to address organizational effectiveness needs and concerns. Leads and provides facilitation, coaching and consulting services that promote positive interactions and a healthy environment, with an emphasis on delivery of the Altru Experience. Delivers courses, change management and cultural interventions in a variety of formats that include e-learning, classroom and other blended learning modalities, templates, standardized and custom materials that are aligned with Altru’s overall strategic direction. Compiles and analyzes data and assesses training requirements and/or organizational development assessments to determine the budget, service, and training priorities that improve organizational effectiveness. Acts as a liaison with internal and external customers to establish and maintain effective business relations and awareness of their needs. Serves as an expert resource for organizational development/organizational excellence and effectiveness facilitation, change management consulting, coaching, training, communications, organizational listening, and other organizational development/organizational effectiveness support. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: Required: • Bachelor’s Degree in these recommended areas: organizational development, business, education, human resources, health or other related fields . 2 • • • • • • • • Three (3) years of experience in organizational development, effectiveness, cultural adaptation, performance management or similar healthcare related experience. Knowledge of management and leadership development, training development and execution, career pathing, measurement tools, engagement and succession planning. Experience in project management, management education, facilitation, instructional design or organization development consulting. Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills with demonstrated presentation skills. Ability to create credibility with senior management and effectively implement interventions. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated capabilities in developing and leveraging organizational development metrics and measures of success to guide effectiveness. Experience with process improvement, employee engagement, service excellence, and organizational culture building. Preferred: • Master’s Degree in organizational development or business. • Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in organizational development or organizational effectiveness. • Experience in healthcare or service industry. • Experience applying organizational development proven practices contributing to high performing teams, increasing leadership acumen and management success. • Advanced Excel/Access/PowerPoint skills.
