On behalf of KWIA and WWIEA, I am pleased to inform you that the 5th Korea International Women’s
Invention Exposition (KIWIE) 2012 and Korea International Women’s Invention Forum, which will be held
in Seoul from May 3 to 6, 2012 with the support of Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and World
Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
KWIA is an association supported by KIPO, with a mandate to promote women inventions in Korea.
Elevating this to an international level, WWIEA was established in 2008 to encourage world women
inventors and entrepreneurs to share and exchange information on a regular basis. Not only do we
provide women with educational programs about invention, but also support women of developing
countries for gaining fair access to the Intellectual Property System. Through such effort we hope to
enable women of all countries to achieve financial independence to enhance gender equality.
One of the various events held by our association is the Korea International Women’s Invention
Exposition (KIWIE) which brings together over 500 women inventors and SMEs (owned by women) from
more than 30 countries to share information and experience, to learn about new technological trends, and
to promote their current innovations. The exposition also enhances women inventors’ prestige and
competitiveness by giving such authoritative awards as Grand Prize, KIWIE Prize, Gold∙Silver∙Bronze
Prizes, and Special Prize of WIPO, KIPO Prize and others. Korea International Women’s Invention
Forum is held for the purpose of consolidating the IP development strategies and sharing examples of
outstanding civilian and government policies supporting women inventors as well as small-medium sized
business operators.
In addition, we will hold the 4th International Workshop for Women Inventors and Entrepreneurs in order
to further promote the international networking and provide best practices of using the IP system. This
workshop will commence on May 7 to 10, 2010, at Ewha Womans University, Seoul, Korea.
I would like to invite you to participate in our events. One round trip ticket and accommodation (5 days in
designated hotel) for the head of delegation per country will be provided. All of the participants are
invited to the Gala Dinner during the event period.

◈ Rules and Regulations
1.
Each invention has to be described on entry form.
Remarks
2.
Exhibits deemed hazardous or that would cause public inconvenience are strictly
prohibited by the organizer.
3.
Selling inventions or products will only be authorized within a section of the business hall.
Exhibitors who wish to sell their products must indicate this on their entry form prior to
participation; otherwise, selling in the other halls will not be allowed.
4.
Exhibitors who wish to send their inventions or products prior to their arrival may send
them to the organizer. Products not duly indicated on the entry forms are strictly
prohibited. Inventions may be presented in the form of ready-made articles, prototype,
models, plans, drawings, photos and texts.
5.
Exhibitors are not allowed to break away from their booth and to leave their spot empty. If
exhibitors withdraw their inventions or products before the closing hour, an award should
be spontaneously cancelled and responsible for infliction of a loss on the damage.
6.
The organizer will allocate to by a nation or a group voluntarily. As circumstances may
require, an exhibit space can be bartered.
7.
The organizer will pay attention to safety of exhibitions, but the exhibitor shall be
responsible for maintenance and management of inventions exhibited.
8.
An exhibitor shall be responsible for insuring the exhibits against theft, breakage of
device, unexpected fire, accident and exhibitor's carelessness. The exhibitor is able to join
the insurance for safety and protection each invention.
9.
A sort of contents that noticed on catalog complied with applicant's writing on application
forms. The organizer will not be responsible for faults about mistake in writing or
mistranslation.
