Citation Friday The History of the Computers Marisol Perez 5th Hour Final December 15, 2011 Have you ever wondered how the computers we use today get here? Or who came up with the idea of computers? Or maybe how did the computers we have today get so smart? Well, I have there are many things that make me wonder about these kinds of questions. Its interesting how someone can think of things like computers. Its also amazing how people use the devices we have today not knowing that regular people like us come up with these kinds of ideas. Today our world is full of really knowledgeable technology that we depend on. To begin with, computers where actually not invented by one person. Surprisingly, many inventors contributed to the history of computers. As a matter of fact a computer is a multipart piece machine made up of many parts. Each of which can be considered a separate invention. The fist electronic digital computers were developed between the years 1940-1945. They were originally the size of a room and needing much more power than the ones we have today. After this idea developed there have been people who have tried to make computers better. The first freely programmable computer was first invented by Konrad Zuse in the year 1936 and was named Z1 Computer. His invention was taken from the idea of the first digital computer. This began making people more competent in a way of which they all tried to come up with ideas that they would believe others would buy their product. There were even companies made that would help sell their computers. Its amazing how someone’s invention can be turned into a big thing especially in our world today. As I researched further about the history of computer I cam across a timeline that told me more about how the computers go to look and be the way they are today. For example the first computer mouse was invented in the year 1964 and was named “mouse” because it had a tale that came out its end just like a real mouse. After the computer devise was invented the computers image was not the only one that wanted to be changed by inventors their knowledge was too. There were many people the contributed to the things that our computers we have today such as the; games, accessories, and things like the internet. In conclusion the invention of computers was and is a great investment in our world today. As the first computer was invented many people tried to find better ways to make computers more dependable and wanted by the people. They wanted to find something that would help people. Which they did because today we have many people depending on computers and technologies for work and even for our education. And as the time goes on more and more people are going to be in need of things like these because technology is taking over. Works Cited "Computer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia."
