English Language Arts Block (Mrs. Barry-5th /6th hours): 9/10
Classwork: Began preview/predict and vocabulary for “Raymond’s Run” . Worked on Lit. terms
associated with the story (parts of plot & conflict). Continued exploring Ideas trait in writing and how
to develop an idea- snorkeling vs. scuba diving; Focused on paragraph writing & began top 10 list adults
should know about middle schoolers; Introduced types of nouns.
Homework: Noun worksheet , Finish top 10 list, Study Lit. terms .
Upcoming Projects/Tests: Read Reading Counts term 1 book and take quiz by 9/28
English Language Arts Block (Ms. Dennison) 9/11
Classwork: all per: Exchange 5 sentences; Questions 1 & 2 of Flight 93 Viewing Guide; Tap-In: round
table discussion of the film; continue Raymond’s Run vocabulary and reading.
Homework: Work your 5 sentences into subject, predicate, parts of speech—test on Wed 9/12; study lit
terms—we will take a self-assessment; finish reading Raymond’s Run and be prepared to work out a plot
line.
