Presidents’ Report- Brandi and Kellie
 Slate Vote Candidates: Carrie Lifshitz, Mollie Mayfield, Nicole
Lynch, Holly Brauer
22 people in attendance – moved to accept the slate – move was
seconded.
 Board seats are filled depending on slate vote tonight. There are
still committee positions open, however.
 Volunteer luncheon is on Friday, May 2nd. It is suggested to come
at the time of the teachers lunch of your child.
 Book Fair 5-7PM: classrooms will be open from 6-7 on April 21-24.
Blue Orthodontics will sponsor the treats that night.
 April 24th: Spring Open House – PATS will have a table for sign-ups
for next year.
 Friday, April 4 will be the last First Friday of the school year.
 Safeway update: earnings are down about $1000 per month due to the
credit/debit card changes. We hope to make this up in some more
eScrip opportunities.
 Yearbooks sold until May 9th on-line and after will only be cash
sales. $20 until May 9th then it goes up to $25.

 Out of budget expense items: Reading materials in third
grade, thnaks form the second grade team for items and fair;
carpets, microscopes and slides in first grade.

Requesting funding for the Orf presentation. Madison
foundation will pay for half and PATS will pay for the other
half.
Principal’s Report-Dr. Flowers (10 min)
 Customer Care Company to help the district help the customer service of
our school.
 Field trips for 2nd and 3rd grades: why are they not taking a field trip
once parents have given their activity fees? The fees are asked for on
several occasions throughout the year.
 New superintendant – Dr. Quinn Kellis
 AIMS will begin April 14th. Whatever letter grade we get this year will
be the grade we keep for the following year, as well.
 Site visit – very thorough. Interviewed teachers in teams and
interviewed teachers. They also looked at several documents. List of
items and areas where work still needs to be done. Site visitors noted
that there was a strong involvement of parents and the parents were very
informed. The things that were on the list, however, are expected to be
in progress rather than complete.
 Office was revamped and updated. Pictures of students and remodel were
to show off the IB of the school. Mission statement is also hi-lighted.
 TOWS: presentation by the director of technology. Samsung tablets and
the background software to ensure teacher control over the tablets.
Teachers can monitor all of the tablets. One cart will cost $25,000.00,
along with the software and 6 hours of PD.
 There will be a bond vote in September of this year. Simis turned 60,
so the proposal will most likely include a revamping of our buildings.
This will be approximately a $95million bond over 10 years.
