Dear Patient
The NHS carries out regular reviews of medicines to make sure that patients continue to receive high quality and effective treatment while ensuring that the NHS gets better value for money.
We are writing to you today to let you know of a change in the name of the medication on your prescription. The full details of the changes are shown below and this new medication will be given to you when you collect your next repeat prescription.
WHAT YOU TAKE NOW WHAT IT WILL CHANGE TO
Quetiapine MR/Seroquel® XL xxxmg tablets –
Take xxxxx tablets xxxx a day
Biquelle® XL xxxxmg tablets –
Take xxxx tablets xxxx a day
This medicine contains the same active ingredient as your old medication so please continue to
take the same dose and take it in the same way as before. Please finish taking all the medicine you currently have before starting on the new brand. The appearance of the new tablets may differ slightly from your previous product, however apart from this you should notice no difference at all.
If you are concerned or wish to discuss the matter further please do not hesitate in contacting the practice or your local community pharmacist.
While writing I would like to take this opportunity to remind you to only order the medicines you need each time you resubmit your repeat prescription request.
Yours sincerely,
On Behalf of the GPs at [Practice name]
