Center Stage- Deepika Warrier, Vice President – Po1 Marketing , PepsiCo India Deepika Warrier is Vice-President – Po1 Marketing, responsible for foods and beverages brands of PepsiCo India. In this role, she is instrumental in driving strategic development, consumer insights, innovation, brand equity and resource allocation across an extended food and beverage portfolio. This power-packed portfolio includes iconic brands like Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi Atom, Mirinda, 7UP, 7UP Nimbooz & Nimbooz Masala Soda, Mountain Dew, Aquafina, Gatorade, Slice, Tropicana, Lay’s, Kurkure, Quaker, Uncle Chipps and Cheetos. After joining PepsiCo India in July 2000, Deepika has held various senior brand management and new business development positions in the company. She moved to PepsiCo’s scale food business in Mexico (Sabritas) in 2005 as Category Marketing Director and worked on strategic innovation projects & scale brands like Doritos and Cheetos. She returned to PepsiCo India in August 2007 as Marketing Director – Foods. In this role, she led the marketing team in an aggressive portfolio diversification agenda, demonstrating the true potential of Quaker and leading the strategic groundwork to kick start PepsiCo’s Value business, worked on evolving Kurkure and Lays positioning & innovation road map to ensure that they grow their “Love-mark” snack brand status. In 2010, she assumed the role of Head of Beverage Marketing and has driven successful equity, activation and innovation programs to make PepsiCo’s beverage brands even stronger : to name a few, the iconic ‘Change the Game’ campaign for brand Pepsi, acquiring sponsorship rights and powerfully activating the ‘Pepsi IPL’, turbo charging growth of Mountain Dew, evolving the Slice Aamsutra campaign, further consolidating the 7UP franchise, especially in South India with a focused regional strategy, the launch of 7UP Nimbooz Masala Soda & Pepsi Atom and refreshing Mirinda with fun flavor innovations. Prior to PepsiCo, Deepika worked in brand management, insights and advertising roles at Gillette, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising and Britannia Industries Ltd. Deepika holds an honours degree from Lady Shriram College, Delhi University and is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
