Computer Applications: FINAL PROJECT You are the proud owner of a new store (restaurant or retail). You already own a few but you’re expanding to another area of the country. It’s your job to get the word out that your business is coming to town. In order to do this, you need to create the following documents using a variety of computer applications. You will want to create a consistent “look” for these materials since they will all represent your company. Choose consistent color schemes throughout all of these documents and use similar artwork and your company logo where appropriate. Create a final project folder to work out of and store all of these related documents. Call it “Final Project <last name>”. (i.e. Final Project Smith) You will be turning in a portion of this folder as steps of the project are completed. 1. Business Card (Publisher) (15 points) To start with, you need to decide on the name of your restaurant and begin thinking about what your company logo might be. Your photo and the company logo need to appear on the business card. Create your logo in Photoshop. Be sure to save your images as JPGs so that Publisher can import them. Save your business card as “lastname_businesscard” **Turn in your business card to the “Publisher_Final” folder 2. Poster Ad (PhotoShop) (30 points) Create a 10” x 7.5” canvas that can later be “blown up” to regular poster size. This should be something that you could post around town to advertise the fact that your new store is coming. Blend lots of color and artwork together using the various features that PhotoShop provides for text and layers. Save as a PSD file in the K:/ drive as “lastname_posterad”. Include the following: at least 2 text layers, name all layers, at least 4 different pictures (on different layers). **Turn in your poster to the “Photoshop_Final” folder 3. Expense Spreadsheet (Excel) (25 points) Your spreadsheet should include the following categories: Last Name, First Name, Social Security Number, Position, Location of Store (City), Time In, Time Out, Total Hours, Hourly Pay Rate, Total Pay. Create a formula that will calculate the total pay from the information given. You will have to create the in information for all employees. You need at least 10 employees. Save as “LastName_Expense Sheet” **Turn in your spreadsheet to the “Excel_Final” folder 4. Advertising Website (FrontPage) (30 points) This website is not an internal company resource but one that the public would view to find out about your restaurant. It should include at least these pages with a sufficient amount of information (you decide…answer common sense questions). The home page – address, phone, etc. (don’t forget your logo) o Picture o Navigation bar A Menu page or Product page – what is available o Minimum of 3 categories 5 items in each category o Picture o Navigation bar Employment Opportunities – job listings o At least 3 job openings o Picture o Navigation bar Locations – addresses of other franchises, managers, directions… o Picture o At least 3 other locations o Navigation bar You have the option of using a theme from FrontPage or you can create your entire site from a blank document. Please be sure you have a consistent look across all of your pages. **Turn in your website to the “Frontpage_Final” folder All assignments are due at the end of the last day of class.
