SUMMARY
Demonstrates, troubleshoots, and evaluates product and applications in the field and in a test environment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Will act as a lead on projects, provide work direction to technicians, and direct cross-functional team members
Manage Customer Solutions Center training program, tour protocol and scripts, Demo’ program and implements industry best practices for the tooling and machine environment
Collects, analyzes, and evaluates customer and sales product feedback and communicates trends and potential enhancements to appropriate design resources and/or new products committee
Support Quality Department or personnel with failure analysis
Collects, analyzes, evaluates, and reports on competitive product
Provides application support and trouble shooting of product to customers, sales force, and internal staff
Develops and delivers formal application and product (Mate’s and competitors) training for customers, sales force, and internal staff
Participates in customer and trade show visits in support of sales forces
Provides assembly, set-up, and application technical instructions to customers, sales force, and internal staff
Interfaces with industry partners like punch press and laser machine manufactures and respective software suppliers to keep Mate abreast of product requirements and potential trends
Develop new specialty applications by understanding the commercial opportunity, the engineering problem to be solved, and a project plan to help us get to the solution
Assist Marketing o In developing product literature in calling attention to key features which are most important to the customer and how the Mate product addresses these needs o Supporting Sample Sheet Program o
Video communication
Participate in M-Team Audit’s. Capable of leading an M-Team audit if necessary
Oversees and assists progress of all assigned projects, before and during, the implementation process. This involves interfacing and communicating with a wide variety of internal and external disciplines, including customers, suppliers, purchasing, sales, manufacturing, accounting, marketing, customer service, shipping, planning, product design staff, and manufacturing support groups.
Work is varied in nature. Under general direction from Product Engineering Manager, plans and performs application duties for part of a major project or projects of moderate complexity
Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Engineering degree (BSME preferred) 5+ Years Experience
Sheet Metal Fabrication and Programming Experience 5+ Years

CAD systems
2D, 3D –Solidworks preferred.
Dimensioning/Drafting
CAM Systems to program CNC Punch Presses.

Advanced knowledge of sheet metal fabrication equipment and processes, including the programming and setup of CNC punch press and laser machines using various software programs
Ability to solve complex problems and effectively communicate results
Strong ability to professionally communicate and present to various audiences
Knowledge of mechanical drafting and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Ability to visualize component relationships and spatial parameters
Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement Techniques
