Manufacturing Process Engineer - for Paramount Stamping location
Description
SUMMARY Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Develops,
evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing the process of continuous improvement to
reduce scrap, increase efficiency and equipment utilization, measured by implementing appropriate
methods to gauge performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned. Implement design changes (ECN’s) to current production products.
Evaluate and update all work instructions, PFEMA’s, Control Plans and Flow diagrams to match
current production processes and implement all changes to all documents when changes to any give
process are implemented. Responsible for maintaining lessons learned and evaluating the lessons
learned to determine if prior history should impact current processes on other product lines.
Responsible for Production process transfers from one facility to another, including transfers to
Mexico facility. This is to include updating the current equipment listing for each facility. Analyzes
and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, material and designs layout of
equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Confers with planning and design staff
concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors
to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and
evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Estimates production times,
staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confers
with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and capacities,
production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical
methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Develops and implements
specific cost reduction projects to achieve lowest lost production status. Manage MRP data input for
Engineering including but not limited to BOO’s.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma, or equivalent required. Bachelors degree
(B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; and four to five years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in stamping
manufacturing a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific
and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common
inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business
community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style
and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or
boards of directors. Spanish speaking a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply statistical
mathematical models to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and
validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. PERSONAL QUALITIES A sense
of urgency, flexibility, adaptability to constant change, attention to details, follow through, and an
attitude of service, cooperation, quality and continuous improvement in work processes and output.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Computer literate. Able to work as a member of a team in a team
