The Host Company
The host company is an award winning and market leading manufacturer, distributor
and service provider of daily living aids and rehabilitation equipment, on behalf of
NHS trusts and local authorities across the UK. We offer effective solutions to the
challenges faced by the elderly, those less able and adults and children with special
needs and we supply and service products and equipment as an end to end provider,
operating through three interlinked divisions:
Host Company National Care - provide integrated community equipment service
across the UK to Local Authority Social Services and Primary Care Trusts.
Host Company Primary Care - our catalogue supplies business to both Local
Authority and PCT run loan stores and private individuals, offers products from a
portfolio of more than 3,500 aids for daily living including Telecare serving over
12,500 individual accounts and supplying 95% of Local Authorities.
Host Company Mobility Care - manages regional wheelchair centres on behalf of
NHS Trusts to provide delivery, repair and maintenance capability to over 150,000
wheelchair Service Users in the local community.

The Placement
The role would be situated in the Export Sales department with 3 other member of
staff; the main responsibilities of the role would be translation, administration and
sales support. We require a dedicated and hard-working individual to join our team
to carry out the responsibilities in the job description attached. The key objectives of
the role are to enhance the company's international presence, and to support the
respective sales managers in their day-to-day tasks, dealing with various countries. It
will require a "can do" attitude and an ability to manage different tasks and prioritise
effectively.
Candidate Specification
Graduate calibre with fluent German and a high level of English other languages also
desirable, knowledge of, or experience in a business /sales environment.
They need a candidate with the below traits:

Able to translate material proficiently.

Able to use own initiative.

Strategic thinking with a commercial and professional approach.

Proven communication skills via telephone and email.

PC literate in all Microsoft packages notable Excel, Outlook, Power point and
Word.

A customer focused attitude

Ability to collate and analyse basic data with a strong attention to detail.
Projects
Translation of marketing and export documents into target language ensuring
specific technical language and meaning of the source text is retained.
Creating & translating; presentations, catalogue content, website and marketing
material etc.

Translation of export exclusives item descriptions into target language.

Translation of export international website page.

Create host company international presentation in English and target language
for use at trade shows and to show clients including details of exclusives
items.

Ad hoc translations where necessary of customer communications - trade
show invites, E-newsletters and marketing materials.
Maintain good working relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues in
numerous departments within the host company.
Develop a database for all products in the international catalogue including
certificates of origin, CE certs, weights dimension and box and pallet sizes. This
needs to be done by working with different suppliers and departments within the
host company.

To effectively generate new business and develop existing accounts via
telephone sales & market research.

Contact dormant and lapsed customers in key areas in order to encourage
sales, promote host company.

To make regular customer care calls to existing and lapsed customers

To advise and assist customers with export enquiries as appropriate.

To follow up on promotions and offers with customers.

Contact lapsed and dormant customers who have not ordered in the last 2
years to generate renewed business.

Search for and contact potential customers through market research, contacts
from trade shows and develop any potential leads.

Work with the Export Sales Manager and Executive to seek new business
leads in key markets.

Contact customers via telephone initially and also via email.

Contact customers via telephone to follow up quotes and offers also general
customer service calls to ensure goods have arrived etc.

Create a database of all core and non core customers with up to date
information and to maintain, purchasing record and master file for each
customer.

To conduct market research and competitor analysis. Research information on
new and key customers gathering information on products, ordering patterns,
sales information and leads etc.

To start with top 20 customers increase to 50. Include information on
purchasing patterns, products purchased, average order value, purchasing
record, trade shows attended. Develop into full SWOT analysis, working with
the Export team to create detailed information on customers so we can
develop patterns of success and opportunities to develop.
Obtain information for promotions and for export sales manager and export
executive's use.

To assist in the day to day marketing activities to international customers,
notably to contribute to the monthly Export Traders' E-blast newsletter,
organise mail shots and oversee catalogue distribution (bulk and individual).

Create an international Database of all customers and potential customers
(details from SAP, trade shows and market research)

Create a monthly E-news letter for customers including company news,
product reviews and information.

Create an offer for new and long stock items sending to all customers on the
host company's International Database.

Follow up offer with a call to increase leads and sales and develop the
international host company presence.
