CLASS RULES:
1. Students will show respect toward one another and the teacher.
2. Students will participate and give their best effort on all assignments and
discussions.
CLASS OUTLINE:
1. When entering the class, all students should have a great attitude and be ready
to work.
2. Every student should be in his or her assigned seat when the bell rings with
the exception of any student needing a few extra minutes to collect make-up
work.
3. Each student should come to class prepared with notebook, paper,
and pencil or pen.
4. Once class has begun, please refrain from leaving your seat until the
appropriate time.
5. During labs, all lab safety rules are in effect. Lab safety will be discussed
prior to all labs. Any horseplay will not be tolerated and could result in a
zero on the assignment.
6. Please feel comfortable asking questions during class. I only ask that before
you speak you raise your hand or wait for an appropriate pause.
7. Class ends when I dismiss you and you should remain in your seat until that
time. I will not dismiss you when students are out of their seats.
GRADING:
1. Students are responsible for making up work on excused absences.
2. You have as many days as you were absent to complete work. The only
exception is for tests. If you miss the day of a test you will need to take the
test the day you return. If you miss two or more days prior to the test date,
you have the number of days minus one to take the test.
3. Work turned in 1 day late will result in a 40% deduction. Work will not be
accepted more than 1 day late.
4. Final Exam: TBA per CCHS exam schedule
The final exam for biology students is the End Of Course Assessment.
This exam comprises all units from the year and is worth 15% of students
final grade.
TEXTBOOK:
You will be loaned a copy of the textbook “Biology” by Stephen Nowicki and
required to return the book at the end of the school year. Failure to do so will
result in the student being charged the price of the book. Damages to the book are
also charged.
