Vision Statement of the Sunland Springs Village Investment Club (SSVIC) An investment club (15 to 20 members), comprised of Sunland Springs Village residents with a variety of investment experiences, engaged in learning how to manage a stock portfolio. This would include - analysis, selection, tracking, and selling decisions of selected stocks listed on a listed stock exchange. The group has been organized as a partnership under NAIC guidelines. The club has an agreed upon vision, investment philosophy, mission, and goals. This will be an educational experience rather then an investment pool designed for speculative investing with little or no participation by its members. There will probably be other Sunland Springs Village investment groups with different investment philosophies and/or goals. The club meets monthly to hear the results of study assignments willingly accepted by group partners. The group also learns from guest speakers, seminars attended, books and articles read, shared experiences, investment strategies and techniques, and experience gained from the active management of the club’s investments as to how better manage their personal portfolios. With this collective knowledge, the club analyzes and invests in jointly agreed upon stocks. Funds collected through a yearly contribution by each member provide the capital to make these investments. A brokerage firm provides advice, but does not control our investment decisions. It executes the buy and sells orders. A major goal is to have fun and engage in social activities. Jan. 2000
