Planning & Design and Access Statement
in relation to the change of use planning application of
Basement of 236D Fulham Road London SW10 9NB
The proposal
The applicant is hereby submitting an application for the change of use of the
premises situated at basement of 236D Fulham Road London SW10 9NB,
from the current classification as A1 Shop to Sui Generis.
The applicant is planning to run a health care and beauty services at the
premises. It is necessary to have a planning permission with Sui Generis
classification granted in order to achieve this business plan.
Current situation
The premise is currently vacant. The ground floor shop is a retail shop
currently run as an oriental supermarket. In about March 2012, the basement
runs independently of the ground floor with a separate access from the street.
The Planning team has advised that planning permission would be required.
Effect on neighbouring properties
The use of the premises as a beauty and health care shop will have minimal
impact on the surrounding environment. An adequate ventilation and lighting
system is already in place.
The presence of this beauty and health care shop has gained a reputable
name in the local area. The grant of planning permission will further
strengthen the position of the area as a local town centre and will attract
diverse economic opportunities and more visitors to the area, which is one of
the objectives to promote Kensington and Chelsea area.
