Following approval, the Policy Statement will be published. The Government has agreed a postponement of the date when licensing authorities must start to receive applications under the Act until 21 May 2007. Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 Legal Team The Scottish Executive has just published the finalised outline of the training which Board members will be required to undertake to be able to sit on the Board. Training Bodies have been asked to design and put in place courses by June 2007. Trainers/Courses will require to be accredited and members will require to undergo 10 hours of training and to sit a multiple choice examination. A significant raft of secondary legislation is expected to be laid before the Scottish Parliament for enactment during February. Guidance to Local Authorities/Licensing Boards is undergoing final preparation following consultation and should be published shortly. A decision from the Scottish Executive on the favoured approach to a licensing software solution is expected shortly following a consultation by an external IT consultant.
