Please be sure to mark the date on your calendar Thursday, January 20, 2011 Special enrollment meeting at 6:30pm Followed by Steamboat Round Roast Beef dinner Please sign up with the bartender before January 16! Full details in Governor’s Letter… Tallahassee Lodge 1075 has been selected to host George W. McCullough III, Supreme Governor of the Loyal Order of Moose, at an enrollment of new members in his honor scheduled for 6:30 PM on Thursday January 20, 2010. Brother McCullough rose to become the Moose fraternity's chief presiding officer on July 7, 2010, elected by vote of Supreme Lodge delegates to a oneyear term, at the fraternity’s 122nd International Convention in Nashville. G.W. had served as Supreme Jr. Governor since May 2009; elected to that post at the 121st International Convention in Chicago. He previously served as Supreme Prelate during 2008-09. G.W. is a Life Member of Charlotte, NC Lodge 1113, having been sponsored by his father in 1969. He immediately took an active role, serving on all standing and special committees, and holding all chairs, including Past Governor. He stepped in as acting Administrator for an eight-month period. He has been an active Ritualist for more than 20 years, and has been honored as an International Champion in Moose Legion Ritual competition. G.W. has served on all the committees and chairs of WENOCA Moose Legion 78 and is a Past North Moose. He has served the North Carolina Moose Association on several District committee posts, as District President, and on most Association committees; he is a Past President of the Association by service. He has also been conferred the honor of Past President by both the Louisiana and Minnesota Moose Associations. G.W. served on the International Community Service Committee before his appointment to the Mooseheart Board in 1994. A member of the 150 Division of the Moose 25 Club, he received the Fellowship Degree of Honor in 1978, and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 1990. He was awarded the Shining Star as International Moose of the Year for 1995. G.W., an ordained minister of the Baptist Church, is a U.S. Army combat veteran with service in Vietnam, holding the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart among other decorations. G.W. and his wife Sue reside in Charlotte, where he owns and operates McCullough & Associates Auto Electric. The McCullough's have two daughters, two sons, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. Now is the time for every member of our Lodge to share their pride in the Moose by asking a friend, relative or business associate to join. Remind your prospect that if his application is submitted by January 3, 2010, he can be part of this special class in the Supreme Governor’s honor – then enjoy years of fun, fellowship and security that the Moose fraternity provides. All Moose members and their families are invited to attend this special enrollment. We hope to have a great turnout this year and are looking forward to your talents. Thank you, Judy Foster Pool Team Chairman Greetings from your Governor Well, the New Year is here. Good luck with those resolutions. Mine is to try to get this lodge in tip top shape for the Supreme Governor’s visit. We have scheduled a Lodge cleanup for January 8th from 9AM to 5PM. Many of you have offered help. This is one time your lodge could use your help. Any help you can provide. One hour, ten hours… your call. Please find the time to help. On Thursday, January 20, 2011, The Loyal Order of Moose Supreme Governor, George (GW) W. McCullough III, will be visiting our lodge. We are planning a special enrollment and Steamboat Round Roast Beef dinner for his visit. For those that attend the enrollment, dinner will be provided. Please sign- up for the meal before January 16th so we can get an idea of how much food to order. The bartender will have the sign-up sheet. We will have a door prize drawing for $100 in Moose Bucks. You must be present to win. The December and January enrollments have been postponed until this special enrollment. For those new members who have signed up in the last six months and have not participated in the enrollment ceremony yet, please plan on doing so at this special enrollment. Please give me a call at 933-4292 to let me know you are coming. We will also have a special drawing for $25 in Moose Bucks for one of the new members participating in the enrollment ceremony. Moose bucks are just like cash in our social quarters for drinks and food. Once again, I would like to thank the bingo volunteers and players for their continued support. I also want to thank the volunteers that cook and members that eat with us on Sunday mornings and Wednesday and Friday nights. If you would like to get involved, there are signup sheets on the LOOM bulletin board. Thank you for your continued support to the Lodge. Thanks for all you do, even if it is only to renew your dues each year. That renewal provides the dollars needed to operate Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Our kids and seniors love you for it.
