THE FINAL EXAM STUDY GUIDE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE UNTIL THE LAST DAY OF QUARTER 4. Test Format: The test questions will be objective—multiple choice, matching, true/false, etc. There will be a written response based on a prompt. Test Content: There will be a passage from Huck Finn with comprehension and analysis questions. There will be general theme and character questions for The Great Gatsby, as well as questions about specific literary devices (see list of terms on reverse). There will be a passage from The Great Gatsby with questions specific to the passage. There will be specific questions related to the rhetorical strategies both Henry (“Speech to the Virginia Convention”) and Jefferson (“The Declaration of Independence”) use. There will a poem with comprehension and analysis questions. There will be a satirical cartoon with analysis questions. There will be specific plot, character, setting, theme, and language questions related to The Things They Carried. There will be passages from The Things They Carried (that we did not read in class) with questions specific to the passages. There will be an additional reading passage with comprehension and analysis questions. Please bring study materials (for subsequent tests) in case you complete your exam early. Electronic devices such as Ipods, video games, and cell phones are strictly prohibited during final exams. If you have them out in the testing room, they will be confiscated.
