Township of Ocean Recreation Department is sponsoring a trip to
GROUNDS for SCULPTURE

SUNDAY APRIL 27TH (Family Festival Special Event)
Bring the whole family to celebrate our roots as the site of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds as we turn
back the clock and turn the park into a fun-filled fantasy fair! 2014 marks the 350th anniversary of New
Jersey’s statehood, and GFS will celebrate NJ history with special events! Tour the park and its historic
buildings where activities are sprinkled throughout. Experience unique reenactments of iconic cowgirl
Annie Oakley and racecar driver Lucky Teter. Take part in a tile workshop based on our historic Muller
Tiles. Learn about the horseracing industry during a lecture by Kenwood Companies. Get cozy with
rabbits and more during our petting zoo and enjoy fairground favorites of popcorn, salted peanuts, and
hot dogs all day long. And don’t miss the unveiling of the GFS Oral History Project where we’ll hear fond
(and funny) NJ State Fairground stories!
COST:
$25pp(for transportation& drivers gratuity only)
Admission of $10pp is payable upon arrival
Bus departs at 8:30am from the 11th St Community Center in Waretown, returning at 5:30pm.
