Research Module Number 2 Title: Module 2: Benefits of Regular Exercise Standards: v The student analyzes and evaluates the impact of real-life influences on health. v The student effectively analyzes health and safety information to develop health and fitness plans based on life goals. Problem or Question to be Researched: Someone in your immediate family is suffering from a chronic health diseases ie; diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and osteoporosis. How can you convince this individual of the benefits of exercise so they can improve current health conditions? Students will use key words to navigate web pages, gather and organize information into a word document format. Each student will develop a personal fitness plan on power point from the project materials provided from the module activities. Each research module will provide students help in finding the appropriate resources to complete each activity of the fitness project. Getting Organized: Students will look at the problem scenario above and research three (3) benefits of exercise and why each benefit is important to an immediate family member in paragraph form. Students will research the following information outlined below: A. Benefit 1 - Use personal family member; Why is this benefit important to them? Reference required. B. Finding the answer or Solving the Problem: Students will turn in assign Module 2 - Benefit of Exercise (draft) at the end of the class period. Must be typed and references cited. Pull into your class drop box located in the PE student share folder. Evaluation Process: Teacher will review the draft and provide feedback to help students to complete Activity 2 - Benefit of Exercise Power point.
