Course Content:
The structure and functioning of capital market; The development and main features of the
Nigerian capital market; Instrument and operators of the capital market; Study of portfolio
selection and management; Risk and Returns Relationship, Potential profitability of various
investments, Forecasting return on individual portfolios; Stock exchange: growth structure and
performance in Nigeria; Capital market Theory; Current state of empirical evidence of models
for evaluation portfolio performance
Course Description:
This course deals essentially with the understanding the structure, operation and operators of
the Nigerian Capital Market.
Course Justification:
The Course is important because it provides a good ground for students understanding of the
operations of the capital market.
Course objectives
At the end of this course, students would be able to:
Understand the nature, operation and the roles of the operators in the Capital market.
Course Requirement:
The Course is an improvement Business Finance I &II, thus we recommends that all the
students pass BFN 211 and BFN 311 to be able to perform effectively with the course.
