FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Geva Executive Director Appointed to League of
Resident Theatres Executive Committee
Tom Parrish will serve on the 16-member national committee.
Rochester, N.Y., October 31, 2014 – Tom Parrish, Geva’s Executive Director, has been appointed to serve
on the Executive Committee of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT), the association of the United
States’ top not-for-profit theatre companies.
“Creating Excellence Coast to Coast,” LORT is comprised of 74 member theatres, including Geva Theatre
Center, located in every major market in the US, including 29 states and the District of Columbia. LORT
theatres collectively issue more Equity contracts to actors than Broadway and commercial tours
combined. LORT administers the primary national, not-for-profit collective bargaining agreements with
Actors Equity Association (AEA), Stage Directors and Choreographer’s Society (SDC), and United Scenic
Artists (USA). They also deal directly with personnel and management issues involving theatre staff,
artists and craftspeople. LORT is also a forum for sharing information regarding all aspects of the theatre
and promoting the general welfare of resident theatres nationally.
LORT’s Executive Committee consists of sixteen representatives from theatres across the country and
conducts the business of the League between Annual Meetings. It acts upon applications for membership
and is instrumental in negotiating and administering bargaining agreements between the League and
unions.
