Aerospace
No longer “up in the air”, the pilot and aircrew are connected,
situationally-aware and capable of carrying out joint operations
with forces on the ground or at sea.
JHMCS and DASH have become necessities in today’s complex combat arena where survival depends on locking
weapon systems, firing, and egressing the area as quickly as possible. Measuring the pilot’s line-of-sight and slaving
missiles and sensors to the target, Elbit Systems’ Helmet-Mounted Displays bring displays to the pilot’s eye-level and
identify target location, while integrating all modes of operation via HOTAS controls.

advantages
to counter internal and external
threats
All over the world, municipal, state and federal governments
are coming to terms with challenges that are often of mega
proportions - from crime waves and gang wars, to large
terror attacks, to hurricanes and earthquakes, to securing
large public activities such as sports events and concerts.
The basic need for creating and maintaining community
safety – making cities a safe place in which to live, work and
visit – is becoming a major priority worldwide. Traditional
police and security methods often no longer suffice. Drawing
on our extensive experience in military C4I, border protection,
unmanned vehicles and a range of electro-optic and other
sensors, we offer highly modular and scalable solutions
for civilian, public order and disaster resolution. These
solutions are based on components which are already tested
and proven in the military and other arenas and are fully
optimized for homeland security applications.
Information is the Key
Securing a country cannot be achieved by physical
infrastructures alone. It also requires information support
systems that fuse vast amounts of raw data into valuable
information that is then shared across government and
security agencies. The war on global terrorism, money
laundering, organized crime, illegal immigration and
smuggling, all require the same cross-agency collaboration
and demand the capability to monitor and report these
activities efficiently and effectively.

modules to conform with all modern payload systems and
support high-rate digital and analog data communications.
Our tactical video links download video and telemetry
data from UAS to ground, airborne and naval forces. This
comprehensive video network solution includes deployment
by airborne (including UAS) and ground platforms, to displays
carried by dismounted troops as well as small wrist-wearable
monitors. Ground forces also benefit from all–digital,
ruggedized transceiver solutions that receive, display and
disseminate in real-time.
Information is disseminated via data links, tactical radios,
Wi-Fi and Wi-Max to the relevant decision-maker – from
command posts to the individual warrior. Our range of
solutions – including RoIP, VoIP and battlespace video
dissemination net systems – enable effective decisions and
ensure that they are implemented rapidly and accurately.

Expertise Derived from Experience
Commercial Aviation − Kollsman
Elbit Systems of America brings in-depth understanding of
customer needs and decades of experience in tailoring and
integrating complex solutions to the large-scale programs
it has successfully performed. Through VSI and RCEVS our
joint ventures with Rockwell Collins, we are developing the
advanced Helmet-Mounted Display System for the F-35 Joint

in commercial aviation enhanced vision systems (EVS) and
head-up display solutions. We create and deploy innovative
vision systems, head-up displays, instrumentation and test
equipment, flight displays and cabin pressurization systems
to meet the needs of the next-generation air transportation
system.
Elbit Systems of America’s industry achievements include the
successful development of the first strap-down, semi-active
laser seekers that do not require moving parts or gimbals.
This new seeker is effective against moving targets and is
now incorporated in several key laser-guided munitions
programs for the U.S. military.
Focused on improving aircraft safety and operations through
continued development of advanced cockpit technologies,
and in anticipation of evolving demands in the commercial
aviation arena, we introduced the Vision-Based Cockpit, an
innovative toolset that significantly improves situational
awareness while increasing safety and simplifying aircraft
operations. As a member of the Gulfstream G550 team,
Elbit Systems of America was awarded the prestigious Collier
Trophy for pioneering initiative in the development and
integration of the first certified EVS into the Gulfstream
aircraft. Providing pilots with optimal situational awareness,
the U.S. FAA revamped regulations to allow installation of
the EVS as a safety enhancement in all commercial aircraft.
We Know the Mission
Ground C4I and battlefield information systems greatly
contribute to mission success by delivering mission-critical
information. In addition, we process and interpret data
and then present a clear scenario picture to all levels of
command. Armed forces can leverage available resources
for quick coordination and response.

Social SUSTAINABILITY

Elbit Systems’ Policy on Social
Sustainability
We place substantial importance on social responsibility to
the communities in which we live and work. This is consistent
with our policy of emphasizing ethics in our business practices.
Our social responsibility policy is expressed in many different
ways with a common theme: an ongoing inter-relationship
with the community. Our policy enhances and encourages
the voluntary efforts of our companies and employees who
donate their time and efforts in the support of members of
our communities who are in need.
These tutors provide the younger generation with accessibility
to technology-related knowledge as well as other educational
resources that are generally lacking in those regions.
In this regard, we place priority on initiatives to promote
educational advancement, particularly in the technology
sectors. As an organization with extensive know-how and
technology resources, as well as a long-term strategic
approach to management, we see the education of the youth
of today and future generations as the basis for continual
growth and advancement of society, both for the hightech and scientific spheres in general, and for our company
specifically.
In addition to our on community-related activities, we place
emphasis on environmentally sound operational practices,
including numerous initiatives to reduce consumption of
water, electricity, paper and fuel. We follow the leading
standards of corporate governance and focus on ethical
behavior in our business dealings. We are convinced that
contributing to the community and sustainability makes good
business sense. This has been reflected in our ranking among
the top Israeli companies in the “Maala” social responsibility
index and in our participation as a member of the Ethisphere
Institute’s Business Ethics Leadership Alliance, as well as the
international forum on business ethical conduct (IFBEC) of
the aevcsp. defence industry.
A major activity resulting from our social responsibility policy
is facilitating the placement of our employees as tutors in
peripheral communities and less developed neighborhoods.
We promote numerous other community support activities
in Israel, in the United States and in countries in which we
have subsidiaries. We encourage employees to volunteer
for activities that help people in need, such as single-parent
families, the elderly and those with disabilities, as well as
local and national charitable organizations.
