Expertise Derived from Experience
Elbit Systems of America brings in-depth understanding of customer needs and
decades of experience in tailoring and integrating complex solutions to the largescale programs it has successfully performed. Through Vision Systems
International LLC (VSI), a joint venture with Rockwell Collins, we are developing
the advanced Helmet Mounted Display System for the F-35 Joint
Strike Fighter (JSF). Elbit Systems of America’s industry achievements include
the successful development of the first strap-down, semi-active laser seekers that
do not require moving parts or gimbals. This new seeker is effective against
moving targets and is now incorporated in several key laser- guided munitions
programs for the U.S. military.
We Know the Mission
Ground C4I and battlefield information systems greatly contribute to mission
success by delivering mission-critical information, processing and interpreting
data and presenting a clear scenario picture to all levels of command. Armed
forces can leverage available resources for quick coordination and response.
Elbit Systems is a major supplier of C4I systems and maintains a leadership
position in the global C4I systems market.
Commercial Aviation - Kollsman
Elbit Systems of America leverages its leadership experience in commercial
aviation Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS) and head-up display solutions to create
and deploy innovative vision systems, head-up displays, instrumentation and test
equipment, flight displays and cabin pressurization systems meeting the needs of
the Next Generation Air Transportation System.
Focused on improving aircraft safety and operations through continued
development of advanced cockpit technologies, and in anticipation of evolving
demands in the commercial aviation arena, we introduced the Vision-Based
Cockpit™; an innovative toolset that significantly improves situational awareness
while increasing safety and simplifying aircraft operations. As a member of the
Gulfstream G550 team, Elbit Systems of America was awarded the prestigious
Collier Trophy for pioneering initiative in the development and integration of the
first certified Enhanced Vision System (EVS) into the Gulfstream aircraft.
Providing pilots with optimal situational awareness, the U.S. FAA revamped
regulations to allow installation of the EVS as a safety enhancement in all
commercial aircraft. The All Weather Window EVS provides commercial and
business aircraft with the ability to execute precision approaches and safely land
in fog, rain, snow and other reduced visibility conditions, thereby reducing
controlled flight into terrain (FIT) accidents. The second generation EVS II is now
certified on Gulfstream’s G350 through 550 business jets. EVS II is also the first
ever Enhanced Vision System approved for FAA landing credit for an airline
aircraft, certified in 2008 on the FedEx MD-10 and MD-11 aircraft.
Moreover, Elbit Systems of America has developed new technologies for headup displays, shattering size boundaries to offer LCD and micro-HUDs to fit all
sizes of commercial aircraft. The Kollsman General Aviation Vision System
(GAViSTM) provides small aircraft with increased safety and situation awareness
through innovative Infrared technology and aerodynamic packaging. Additionally,
we offer air data computers and sensors that have been deployed worldwide.
Medical Instruments
In the medical instruments field, Elbit Systems of America has expanded its
portfolio to include fully automated in-vitro diagnostic analyzers and sample
handling systems for the clinical diagnostic laboratory; support instruments for
new surgical procedures; therapeutic devices utilizing ground breaking bio-
technologies; and high-volume laboratory automation for diverse medical
applications.
