Malden High School Senior Internship Study Program Handbook 2011 - 2012 Senior Internship Study Program Malden High School 2011-2012 Dear seniors: The Malden High School Senior Internship Program provides eligible seniors with the opportunity to investigate a career, explore an interest, or to work on a self-designed project. Seniors may also be allowed to work as a team with other members of the senior class. Eligible seniors will be granted permission and time to leave Malden High School to work on their project and to collaborate with professionals in their area of interest. Upon completion of the internship site work, seniors will be required to write a four to five page paper on their experiences and outcomes. Seniors will also be required to share this learning experience by creating a presentation and participating in the Senior Internship Exhibition. The exhibition will be held on May 30, 2012 in the Finn Gym from 9:00 am to 12:00 p.m. Any senior who successfully meets graduation requirements by the end of third quarter and who is in good standing, will be eligible to participate in the internship program. Eligible seniors must submit a PROPOSAL, which describes their internship and expected outcomes, by March 16, 2012. Seniors must also seek a GUIDE, the outside professional or specialist, who will be working with them at the internship site or assisting them with the project. Once a proposal has been submitted along with the House Principal & Guidance Approval Form, which will verify that the senior is academically and socially in good standing and has no outstanding obligations, it will be reviewed by the Senior Internship Committee. If the proposal is approved by the committee, the senior will receive written confirmation on the acceptance of his or her internship.
