STATEMENT:
Jessica is a change agent for General Motors (GM) as a Lead Sr. Manufacturing
Engineer at Pontiac Assembly (PAC); leading a team of engineers and resident
suppliers in paint processing. Jessica attended a 9-month Paint Development Program.
Her initiative to gain practical knowledge from experienced engineer
/tradesman/operators has made substantial quality and financial impacts for GM.
Recently, she’s working with paint team members to perform non-cyclical standardized
work; she empowers operators to take ownership through communication and trust.
Her leadership and drive enabled her to lead a 2-year project and be the first plant to
decommission a final bake oven with annual savings $750k. In the past 3 years, Jessica
collaborated with engineers to save $4.5M+ by optimization of ovens/air houses and
annual $1M+ avoidance through material reductions. As plant paint lead to robotic
experts implementation of: new sealer technology led to redeploy of 10 operators and
sound deadener instead of foam parts led to save $2M+ annually. In her first years, she
championed the PAC Contamination Control Team initiatives/projects to reduce dirt
counts in paint by 60% from 2005-2007. She continuously uses her expertise and
managerial talent to “push the limits” and bring the team to the next level.
